Company Background

Building Solutions has been trading for almost forty years and, as you can imagine, there has been many changes over the years.

In the early days we were exclusively a building preservation company specialising in dealing with timber and damp problems on traditionally constructed properties. In 1990 we formed a new division to tackle the emerging problems associated with more modern structures e.g. concrete deterioration.

We continued to develop skills to solve most problems associated with the restoration and refurbishment of the full range of properties. We were being asked to take on more and more of the main works involved in the projects. Looking back now, it seems that the next development for us was an obvious one – to become the main contractor on the projects we were involved with using our in-house expertise to undertake most of the works and only bringing in sub-contractors for a small element of the contract. This gave our customers a comprehensive ‘one stop’ building restoration and refurbishment service.

This proved to be a significant development for Building Solutions. We managed to build up a strong portfolio of successful projects and satisfied customers whom offered us a lot of repeat business. So much so that BS has expanded considerably over the last few years and we have also developed two further divisions, Insurance-funded reconstruction and General Building.

Against all this growth, demand for our original services has remained and the precious expertise in these areas still resides within the company, with the relevant people working together under a Specialist Building Service Division.

Today the company is well placed to meet the demands of the market place with proven competencies in Building Restoration, Building Reconstruction and Specialist Building Services. Inevitably many of our major building refurbishment projects have involved building completely new structures, and we anticipate steady growth in general construction works in the future.

The diverse nature of the markets for our various services has dictated a large degree of variation in both the size of our contracts and the profile of our clients resulting in a wide and varied customer base. It remains the company’s ambition to profitably satisfy demand in all sectors whilst maintaining the company’s long earned reputation for competence, professionalism and outstanding customer care.
